Last week I shared about our journey visiting the amazing National Parks located in Utah. One of the things that came to mind as I write to you this morning is how Ed and I marveled at the amazing sites we were to able literally see around every corner and curve in the road. Each new view brought with it a lot of “Wow’s” and “Awe’s”.
I share this with you today because I was also reminded of the elements of watching change unfold as my big sister Susi turned 60 this past week. What a milestone! As we sat over lunch on her actual birthday last Wednesday, we marveled at the fact of her arrival at this age. An age that we used to think was old! But what was amazing was how young she seemed to be feeling ;)
With just a few years before I reach that milestone as well, I can’t help but notice that when rounding the important corners in our lives, paying full attention is key. Pay attention to all the juicy details that sometimes in our day-to-day lives we stop noticing.
As the season of fall fully explodes in brilliant colors here in Colorado, it is such a visual reminder of how relevant change is to this process. We can choose to embrace what’s around the corner, or try and fight it or ignore it. Which one would you choose?
I have found that by embracing change and going where I haven’t gone before – of course it’s scary as hell sometimes – that is where life gets those Wow’s and Awe’s!
We are going to talk more about dealing with fear next week in the annual “Fight the Fear Victory Letter.”
Until then ask yourself these 3 questions:
1. What is the primary thing that you would like to see change in your life?
2. Who is your best ally in assisting you to allow change to happen?
3. What is the best change that has happened in your life in the last year and how/why did it happen?
I would love if you could share your answers in the comment section below so collectively we could be a catalyst for change.
